Asherah Capellaro, soprano, received her M.M. in vocal performance from Westminster Choir College. As a grad student she appeared in the title role of Ravel鈥檚 L鈥橢nfant et les Sortil茅ges (2016) and sang with the Boccherini Center鈥檚 international training program Canta in Italia. She has also completed coursework in musicology (University of Arizona) and conducting (Temple University and WCC). Capellaro has been a featured soloist at many venues in Southwest Virginia, including Opera Roanoke (Clorinda, cover), AGAR (Elena Ceausescu), the Taubman Museum (Listening to Paintings), Virginia Children鈥檚 Theatre (Mrs. Mushnik and Rose), Washington and Lee University (Collective Euphonia), and St. Paul鈥檚 Episcopal Church (Mendelssohn鈥檚 Hear My Prayer). As a conductor and pianist, Capellaro has held various music director positions at churches and synagogues, served as chorus master at Attic Productions and Opera Roanoke, and has taught middle and high school choir and theatre at North Cross School in Roanoke, VA.
