Hollins offers a fifteen percent tuition discount to alumnae/i of the university.

Available to students for their first year who submit outstanding applications and who are continually enrolled for at least part time credits each semester of the academic year (summer, fall, spring). If available, continuing students may qualify for merit-based scholarship funding for one academic year based on exceptional course work. Additional need-based funding may be available for special circumstances.

Open to students in the M.A. and M.F.A. programs. This opportunity carries a $2,000 tuition stipend. The best candidates have typically completed History & Criticism or another critical class and shown aptitude for scholarly editing.

One SCBWI member will be awarded $1,000 toward tuition for our Graduate Programs in Children鈥檚 Literature and Illustration. Deadline to submit application for potential 2026 funding is March 15, 2026. Results will be announced in time for summer registration. To enter, writers will submit the first page of a manuscript or academic work (based on SCBWI鈥檚 鈥渇irst page critique鈥 guidelines). The Ann B. Sullivan Children鈥檚 Literature Student Conference Fund provides small grants to students enrolled in the current academic year in the graduate programs in Children鈥檚 Literature and Illustration at Hollins University, to assist with expenses associated with attending conferences, such as registration, lodging, or travel. The window for applications is April 15th through April 30th.
