The presidential inauguration represents the peaceful transfer of power and continuation of democratic traditions\, while MLK Day honors Dr. King’s profound impact on civil rights and social justice in America. \nHolding these observances on the same day in January offers a chance to explore their interconnected themes: \n\n\n Dr. King’s work was fundamentally about expanding democratic participation and ensuring all Americans could fully engage in civic life;\n The inauguration ceremony itself embodies democratic principles Dr. King fought to protect and extend to all citizens;\n Both occasions invite reflection on the ongoing work of strengthening democracy and advancing equal rights.\n\nThis event is intended for current Hollins students. Interested faculty and staff are also welcome.\n\n  URL:/event/inauguration-watch-party-and-mlk-day-reflection/ LOCATION:VAC 119 CATEGORIES:Community Event,Student Activities ATTACH;FMTTYPE=image/png:/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/BrunchN-with-a-Dream-Updated.png ORGANIZER;CN="Megan Canfield":MAILTO:canfieldm@Ĵý.edu END:VEVENT BEGIN:VEVENT DTSTART;TZID=America/New_York:20250130T100000 DTEND;TZID=America/New_York:20250130T150000 DTSTAMP:20260416T172748 CREATED:20250124T181820Z LAST-MODIFIED:20250127T140850Z UID:70410-1738231200-1738249200@www.Ĵý.edu SUMMARY:Conflict + Collaboration Gallery DESCRIPTION:We are pleased to announce an exciting exhibition showcasing innovative student work from across our Conflict + Collaboration program.
